Youth Facilities

The Youth Facilities act as a “bridge” to independent life. The older children, aged 15-16, go from the Children’s Villages into the Youth Centres where they live for 3-4 years until they get a profession.

Here teacher-tutors help adolescents to study and gain job placements. They help the students to prepare all the necessary documents to get private accommodation.

Teenagers get used to leading independent lives but their real home is at their family house in the SOS Children’s Village and their SOS Mother is the person they are closest to.

Having finished vocational training, they leave the Youth Facilities. We offer our 18-19 year old graduates an after-care programme for the next 3 years. The young people move to a permanent place of living which can be their own apartment as a private property or municipal dwelling, or, financially supported by SOS Children’s Villages, they can rent a flat.

There are 7 Youth Facilities in Russia: 3 in Moscow and the Moscow region, 2 in Oryol and 2 in St. Petersburg.
