The programme of social orphanhood prevention  

 One of SOS Children’s Villages’ tasks is to support a biological family for the child. At present in the Murmansk region there is a specialized service for the prevention of early refusals of children (during the prenatal and postnatal periods) functioning on the basis of non-governmental educational institution of adults training the Child Placement Support Centre.

The family strengthening programme called “Together with mother” is aimed at the prevention of early relinquishment of the child:

•       The maintenance of a biological family for children up to 12 months on conditions of stability and security for them

•       Women who are finding life hard because of their new-born child are provided with psychological, social and financial support
