On the 18th of January the Association of European Business reception took place at the Austrian Embassy in Moscow. SOS Children’s Villages Russia was invited to raise awareness of its activities among AEB members. About a hundred of representatives of European companies in Russia took part in the reception. The event began with a welcome speech by the Austrian Ambassador Martin Vukovich, in which he highlighted the SOS Children’s Villages presence at the event. Then the speech by Gerald Sakuler, the Vice President of the AEB followed. He told that the participation of SOS Children’s Villages in the AEB reception was the initiative of Mrs. Vukovich, who as the Ambassador of Good Will, has given great contribution to the SOS Children’s Villages and has promoted the SOS idea. The day before, Ursula Vukovich had been decorated with an SOS-KDI award – scarf – and presented with a thank-you-letter, signed by Tom Malvet, CDO KDI, and Elena Glagoleva, ND SOS Russia, bunch of flowers and children’s drawing.   Elena Glagoleva, told about the SOS Children’s Villages, Youth Facilities and other SOS programmes in Russia and encouraged the guests not only to donate to the SOS Children’s Villages that day but to give long term support. She announced SOS Village’s Tomilino choir performance. The children sang three songs; all the guests were delighted and deeply moved. Mrs. Vukovich presented each child with a red rose.   After the choir’s performance SOS co-workers with two donation boxes walked through the guests. The SOS mobile stand had been placed at the entrance, where all those interested could have an opportunity to take informational booklets and leaflets about the organisation.   On behalf of our children we thank everybody who supported SOS Children's Villages and hope that there will be a long term support. |
